Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sounderman processes personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Data we process

  • Account data: email address and password (stored hashed) used to sign in.
  • Profile data: username, and optionally a profile picture and bio you provide.
  • Content you upload: audio files, cover images, titles, descriptions and credits — visible to other members of your room.
  • Activity data: tracks you play, like, and add to playlists, used to power recommendations.
  • Technical data: essential local storage to keep you signed in and remember settings (theme, equalizer, draft uploads).

Purposes & legal bases

  • Providing the service (account, upload, streaming): performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Recommendations and improving the experience: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Anything you optionally provide (profile picture, bio): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Processors

We use Convex (Convex, Inc.) to host the database, file storage and authentication. Data may be processed on servers outside Switzerland/the EU under appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not sell your data and do not use advertising or third-party tracking.

Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your tracks at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Your rights

  • Access, rectification and erasure of your data.
  • Restriction of and objection to processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdrawal of consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
  • Lodging a complaint with the Swiss FDPIC or your local EU supervisory authority.
